Why “Parenthesis?” Pastor Isaac Meek chose the name because of how we talk to each other online. Often times we don’t say what we mean until we put our true feelings in parenthesis. 
When we talk in the parenthesis we are talking about what is really going on inside ourselves, and what is on the inside is what counts. What the leaders of the High Youth Group want to show the teens is what’s on the inside of us: the love of Jesus. Then we want to help them open up to the people around them concerning Christ. This is extremely relevant to today’s culture in that too often it’s easy to hide behind a screen name online without ever concerning ourselves with who we are on the inside.
At Springhouse, our teenagers aren’t just getting together for fun – they are getting ready to change the world! Our senior high youth program is focused on what truly matters – what’s on the inside. All the good works in the world wont make a difference if they aren’t done for His glory.
Paul said, in Romans 12, “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (MSG)
The High School Youth Group is committed to service and fellowship. Every year we have a fall retreat, a summer mission trip and tons of activities through the months.
If you are High School aged you are invited to join us weekly on Wednesdays at 7 pm at Springhouse in the Youth Room. We’ll spend time worshiping together then listen to the Word taught by one of our High School youth leaders or pastors.
We also meet on Sunday mornings at 9 am for a discussion based Bible study. See the Welcome Desk for room number.
