Uniting Generations

We Love Children!

At Springhouse Worship and Arts Center we love children and believe that we are making a difference in their lives. From birth through elementary school, our Children's department continually provides places for your children to play, learn, build relationships, and experience God. We offer a variety of worship experiences and classes. Classes are designed to engage different learning styles, provide a variety of interaction encounters, and present opportunities to build relationships. Whether you're attending on Sunday mornings or on Wednesday evenings, you can know that we have something for your child. Children's Pastor,

We offer a variety of worship experiences and classes. Classes are designed to engage different learning styles, provide a variety of interaction encounters, and present opportunities to build relationships. Whether you're attending on Sunday mornings or on Wednesday evenings, you can know that we have something for your child. Children's Pastor, Margaret Meek, states, “We believe one of the key ways children are discipled is through deep and meaningful relationships with other children and adults. Everything we do is based on Deuteronomy 11:18,19.”

“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” (Deuteronomy 11:18,19 NIV).

 Nursery (birth – age 3):

Our nursery is available for every regularly-scheduled service. It's a great opportunity for your child to play, make friends, and encounter God's love.

  • For infants (0 – 9 months), our nursery is available for every regular service and we take care of staffing.
  • For crawlers and walkers (9 months – 3 years) we ask parents to help staff through a co-op program.

Sunday Mornings

In addition to our nursery, we have a variety of learning and worship experiences for your preschool and elementary school child.

Preschool children (ages 3 – 4):

We offer learning centers in the preschool classes at both the 9:00 and 10:45 services. We know that they love a routine that they can understand and that they are absolutely soaking up love, relationships, knowledge, and experiences with God. Whether you attend our 9:00 or 10:45 service, your child will learn the same Bible lesson and we will have a variety of activities to keep them engaged as they learn. Of course, the teachers and students may change from service to service.

Elementary school children

We know that there are vast differences in learning styles for each student and each age group so we cater to those learning styles by offering multiple worship and learning experiences.

For our 9:00 AM service we offer small group classes with learning centers for individual learning styles and learning through self-discovery. These are great places for children to have personal interactions and develop relationships with their peers and with leaders. In addition, we use a curriculum designed to take your child through the entire Bible once every two years.

For our 10:45 AM service we offer Cool Church. It's a fun, exciting worship experience geared for elementary school children. This is also the time our teachers use to explain what we believe and what we do in simple, clear terms. Cool Church provides upbeat, kid-friendly praise and worship, games, object lessons, and Scripture memory verses all centered around a Biblical focus.

As in our adult services, we have Communion every week, receive an offering, and spend time praying for the children's individual needs. Before and after Cool Church we have activities that allow our leaders to spend some time with their students.

Wednesday Nights

Club W – Our preschool through fifth-grade classes are designed to include new children immediately through the use of age-appropriate curriculum and learning centers.

In addition to an age-appropriate teaching curriculum, we also offer some programs where your child could enjoy being in a small choir or learning about art, cooking, or dance. These classes are often a great way for your child to connect and interact with his or her peers as well as the adults teaching the classes.

Security

As a church, we want to be a safe haven for your children in every way.  That includes keeping them safe and secure when they're with us. Here are just a few of the things we do to keep them safe:

  • We have two secure areas in the church where only official volunteers and church staff are allowed during worship and class times
  • We require background checks for everyone who volunteers with your young children
  • All children's volunteers wear official name badges
  • We ask that parents drop off and pick up their children in person.

Volunteering

As with many churches, we are staffed by volunteers. Working with the children is often a great way to connect with other people in the church and forge great friendships while making a difference in the lives of children. Our nursery is a co-op, which means that we may ask you to help in the nursery if you have children in there.

For our other children's classes, we are always looking for people who want to invest in the lives of the next generation. If you love children and feel like God has called you to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you. You will have to pass a background check for security.
