The SWAC Factor
Those that were there know that Wednesday, July 13th’s SWAC Factor Performance was a night full of laughs, wows and awe! From the opening rendition of “Takin’ Care of Witness” sung to the tune of Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s classic: “Takin’ Care of Business” to the hysterical book excerpt that ended the night, Springhouse Worship and Arts Center once again lived up to it’s name.
Of special note this year was the number of new folks who took advantage of the opportunity to display their talents in front of a full house without really knowing what they were in for! Kudos to Aly, Joey, Stevie, Jeanne, Thom, Mike, Nicelle and Company, dancers of all ages and some guy named Blind Lemon Pledge.
The hands-down, highlight of the evening though, was Chris Mincy’s impassioned singing of “All The Way” accompanied by representatives of Men at the Gate. It was a truly moving moment that ended with a completely deserved extended standing ovation.
We extend our thanks to all the participants, the backstage crew, the always ready judges and everyone who came for making it perhaps the best night of variety in Springhouse history.
